THIS SUNDAY @ CALVARY

WANT TO SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE?
Today, it seems almost impossible to simplify our lives. Our busy calendars, concerns about money and time constraints often keep us from focusing on God’s plan and purpose. During this series, we will focus on how to simplify each of these areas and fill our lives with what really matters.

HOPE FOR THE FORGOTTEN HOLLER
By Jane Dillner, Guest Writer
Hidden in the Appalachia Mountains in Kentucky is a place called "the forgotten holler." There are no restaurants, no gas stations, no help from the outside. Families there live in poverty and barely scrape by. Although located near Whitley City, donated clothing is passed among other hollows, but the folks from Clark Hollow are not notified.
I just returned from a mission trip with Calvary where we worked on a home in Clark Hollow and saw first hand the struggle this “Hatfields and McCoys” situation has created. With school beginning and winter on its way, these people have few of the necessitiesneeded for basic survival.
In October, another church team will be working with the people in the "forgotten holler." This team would like to distibute much-needed supplies to the families in the community to get them through the winter months. During the weeks of 9/13 and 9/20, Calvary Church will be collecting donations to send with this team in October.
The Clark Hollow Collection Project Needs:
Personal Hygiene Products:
Soaps and shampoos, paper products, diapers, baby supplies.
Clothing for All Sizes:
Specifically kids sweatshirts, comfortable shoes, gym shoes, long sleeve shirts, fleeces, simple dresses (for church), and simple winter coats |
Please bring these items to Calvary Church during the weeks of 9/13 and 9/20 and place them in the marked barrels in the Worship Center. For more information, contact Jane Dillner at 408.448.8339.

SIMPLIFY YOUR FINANCES
9/20 - 10/11 at 10:45am
Many people are experiencing financial challenges. They are facing growing debt, little or no savings, inadequate income, and no plans for their financial future. The Bible has more to say about giving and handling money than it does about love or obedience.
Beginning on Sunday, September 20th, Calvary Church will host a Handling Money Learning Experience. Topics covered in the class include debt, giving saving and investing.
