Jan Winters is the Pastor of Discipleship at Calvary Church. Her job responsibilities include the oversight of birth through fifth grade during Sunday services, summer day camps, and related children's activities as well as women's and family ministry. She also serves as a resource and counselor for parents seeking parenting information. To prepare for this job, Jan's education includes a BA in Music from San Jose State University, and a Lifetime Standard Elementary Teaching Credential. She has had considerable work related experience in children's work. Jan began her career by serving as a teacher in the Los Gatos Elementary School district from 1971 to 1977. Jan received the Lord as her Savior in 1974. She then felt called to serve in the ministry rather than a secular profession. Jan served as Director of Children's Ministry at Crossroads Bible Church for 10 years before accepting her current position. She has been a seminar speaker at Sunday School Conventions in Sacramento, the Bay Area and San Jose. She has also done free lance writing for the David C. Cook Publishing Company. Jan stays current in Children's Ministries by attending the Children's Pastor's Conference in Denver each year. Jan is supported in the ministry by her husband, Preston, and their two children, Ryan and Shawna.
